From the first read of your situation through to what comes next.

Every product maps to a stage of the Messy to Next Method. You can enter at any point.

The Messy to Next Method

Every client enters at a different stage. The method works wherever you arrive.

Stage 1: Manage the Exit

You have just been notified or you can see it coming.

The decisions you make in the first days and weeks determine what you walk away with. Most people find out too late what was actually negotiable.

The advisory pays for itself in the first decision it improves.

Most decisions at this level don’t fail loudly. They fail quietly, over time.

A missed promotion cycle at VP to MD level: 12–18 months of compensation difference

A poorly handled exit or negotiation: CHF 30k–60k+ lost in a single moment

A misread situation: Costs you leverage you don’t get back

The advisory doesn’t need to “pay off” over time. It pays for itself in the first decision it improves.

What this actually costs you
What is included

Full situation read

A structured assessment of what is actually happening, what information you have, what is missing, and where the real constraints sit. Most people are navigating the wrong problem. This establishes the correct one.

Every realistic path mapped

All viable options identified, analysed, and stress-tested. What each path requires, what it risks, and what it produces. Nothing excluded because it feels uncomfortable. Everything assessed on the structural evidence.

One clear recommendation

A single reasoned recommendation on the best path given your specific situation, constraints, and objectives. Not a list of options with no direction. A position, with the reasoning behind it.

Complete steps to execute it

The full execution sequence. What to do, in what order, with what timing, and with whom. Stakeholder sequencing, conversation design, decision points, and contingency moves if the situation shifts.

Support through the execution

A call every other week as the default rhythm. More when the situation requires it, and these situations always have moments when it does. Async support throughout. You are not handed a plan and left alone with it. The advisory continues as the strategy executes.

This is not for everyone
  • Not for professionals below mid-senior level

  • Not for people who want emotional support or validation

  • Not for people who want to be told what they want to hear

  • Not for people who aren't prepared to act on a clear read, even when it's uncomfortable

FAQs

Do I have to start with the Decision Call? For situation-based work, yes.

The Decision Call ensures we’re acting on a precise read, not assumptions.

How fast can we move? Most clients take action within 24 hours of the Decision Call.

Will you speak to HR or my manager? No. I advise you and equip you with the scripts and materials you need. You remain the principal in every conversation.

Do you guarantee outcomes? No.

What I do is ensure the decision you’re making is the right one based on what’s actually happening. That’s where outcomes are determined.

Can we pause or stop? Packages have a defined duration with continuation available if the situation extends. Ongoing advisory has no minimum term on either plan.

What if my situation doesn't fit one of the packages? Senior career decisions rarely fit neatly into one box. Book the 15-minute clarity call and we'll establish what's actually needed. If nothing I offer is the right fit, I'll tell you that too.

Not sure where to start?

If your situation isn't listed, that doesn't mean I can't help. Senior career decisions rarely fit neatly into one box. Email lisa@nextpositionadvisory.com or schedule a clarity call. I'll tell you honestly whether anything I offer is relevant.
